This version of our map shows the areas designated by the Welsh Government with presumption in favour of large-scale wind energy development. Planned and existing wind farms are also shown.
The map data for Pre-assessed areas is supplied from DataMapWales and as such contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
There are no included details for turbine locations, solar or proposed transmision lines with pylons or wood poles. For this type of information please see our main map.

Wind farm circle markers indicate locations where not much else is known. Speculative wind farms, shown in pink, are known from minimal information, often by company name only and located with reasonable probability derived from that name (optional display in the layer menu).
